The players are enjoying their two months’ off-time while the clubs are sweating hard on signing the best talent to build a solid squad for the next season.

There is more than a month left for the new season to begin, and several top stars are still unsure of their next destination as they are out of contract. This article will shed light on top free agents this year.

  1. David De Gea

After 12 years at Manchester United, David De Gea is all set to leave the Red Devil as his contract expired on July 1.

In 415 appearances for United, De Gea has made several breathtaking saves. But in the past two seasons, he has become error-prone, which is why United have their eyes set on Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana.

Meanwhile, De Gea’s next destination still remains a suspense.

  1. Eden Hazard

Once touted to become one of the bests in the world, Hazard will do down in history as one of the most downgraded players. Eden moved to Real Madrid in 2019 and has spent most of the time injured or on the bench.

Recently Madrid announced that Hazard would leave the club after the season, and the 32-year-old is now looking for a new challenge. Although, there are reports that MLS side Montreal Impact are trying to sign Belgium.

  1. Roberto Firmino

Firmino, who enjoyed great success at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, has left The Reds after his contract expired on June 30, 2023. The 31-year-old won several accolades with Liverpool, but in the past season, with the arrival of Gakpo and Darvin Nunez, he has not got enough opportunities.

There are reports that Firmino has reached a verbal agreement with Saudi side Al Ahli.

  1. Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid’s legendary defender Sergio Ramos, who played for PSG since 2020, announced that he would look for a new challenge for the upcoming season, thus rejecting a contract extension.

The 37-year-old is towards the tail-end of a glamorous career. As reports suggest, Ramos’ former club Sevilla are interested in bringing him back to the club after 19 years.

  1. Alexis Sanchez

The former Arsenal star player who won two Copa America for Chile is also a free agent despite doing good for Marseille in the previous season. The 34-year-old has a lot of football left in him, but no club has approached Alexis yet.
